We help banks to design, implement, further develop, and align risk processes and frameworks that have a firmwide implication. This includes cross-risk-type and cross-organisational challenges such as stress testing, capital planning, ICAAP and ILAAP, recovery and resolution planning and risk appetite frameworks (RAF). Our Enterprise Risk projects require both a detailed understanding of banking business models and specialist knowledge from our other services. Against this backdrop, the relevant teams work closely together.
Examples of how we help our clients include:
- RAF Design and Implementation: We assist our clients in articulating their risk appetite and cascading it down to business units, operating models for the risk division and overall risk governance and control structure.
- Stress Testing Framework Enhancement: We further develop stress testing frameworks having in mind the regulatory roadmap in the relevant jurisdictions as well as our client’s specific management needs to ensure best-in-class and future-proof solutions.
- Model Validation and Review: Increasingly, banks are required to regularly "validate" not only individual models, but also overall systems such as stress testing frameworks or ICAAPs that leverage multiple risk and valuation models. Our team’s expertise allows to create a holistic view if an overall system is “fit for purpose” and to provide valuable recommendations regarding further development.
- Integration of Frameworks: We assist our clients in increasing effectiveness and efficiency of the overlapping processes and frameworks by optimising interfaces, leveraging existing infrastructure, and harmonising fundamental definitions and methodologies.
